Credit Control Supervisor

An Opportunity exists within the Finance & Accounts Department, to fill the position of 
Some of the primary responsibilities of the Credit Control Supervisor at various times in his/her career will include but are not limited to:
  • Ensuring that certain large customer accounts remain in good standing, including monthly review of accounts, following up on arrears, resolution of account queries, application of payments on account, reconciling of customer balances, payment arrangements and regular customer visits.
  • Investigate and recover outstanding electricity charges for active and disconnected accounts that are over ninety days and prepare monthly reports with recommendations for collection.
  • Liaise with the company’s debt collection agencies on matters relating to debt collections for inactive accounts.
  • Review debit/credit balances on inactive accounts and take appropriate action
  • Maintain Third Party Collection Agencies and Debt Collectors Accounts Receivable accounts including the collection of outstanding amounts
  • Compile and provide the relevant documentation required for legal Practitioners and other relevant parties to pursue timely collection of amounts due to the Company
  • Determine and submit recommendations for debt write-offs to obtain the required approvals in accordance with the Company’s approved Bad Debt Policy
  • Responsible for the ongoing data cleanse of customer account balances
  • Provide regular formal reports to the Credit Control Officer including, aged debtor analysis, overdue debt information and actions taken, bad debt provisions and summary of debts which have been written off
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of relevant Accounts Receivable general ledger accounts
  • Assist in the review of the section’s operating policies and procedures, and recommend amendments where necessary
 The ideal candidate must possess:
  • An Associates Degree in Business Management or related field
  • A minimum of three (3) years related experience
